Joyce's fabulous pine needle baskets are offered in the Museum Store. Drawn to needlework and crafts of all sorts from an early age, sewing
became a favorite pastime for Joyce Lantz through the years. She
majored in art and design in college, developing her interests
over
time. After moving to Tennessee in 1991, basketry and quilting, both
lifelong interests, became real passions.
She teaches both basketry
and quilting and exhibits and sells her work.
She and husband Bob both
taught at CSCC;
they recently moved to Western North Carolina where
mountain crafts and lore offer even more inspiration to create.
Joyce credits two talented grandmothers, good friends
and a local quilt
guild for the development of her skills.
