Class of '77 Questionnaires..........

Names in alphabetical order, first names...

Up until now, all the names were in alphabetical order.  That was until David Froula's photos arrived.  He gets to go first...  He completed 500 miles on the Appalachian Trail - and here's a photo from the trip!!!

Our hats are off to you, Froula!!!  Congrats!!!  Can't wait to meet your family!!!

Tracy & Gang

David on the Appalachian Trail – He complete 500 miles,          Senior night with oldest son, Gabe, November 06

June 04                                                                                                  Garrett, Carrie, Gabe & David

David & Garret, Land Between the Lakes,                Oldest son Gabe receiving his Eagle Scout Award.

School Trip Sept 05                                                   David was also an eagle scout. David, Garrett, Gabe, & Carrie

David & Gabe on a Scout trip to Philmont 04,                             David & Carrie Froula, Before son Gabe’s high school David  was assistant Scout Master                                                        Graduation, May 07

name:  Dave Froula

current location:  Murfreesboro , TN

occupation:  Engineer

family, kids:  Carrie (BCHS ’78), Gabe (18), Garrett (13)

hobbies:  supporting the boy’s sports activities (middle school basketball/baseball/XC & high school football/wrestling), outdoors (doing section hikes of the AT), messing around with the cars.

favorite bands in HS:  Eagles, Boston, Pink Floyd, Led Zep

favorite bands now: All those plus country, bluegrass, folk rock, r&b, (these are all in the same genre known as “country crap” according to my youngest kid).

car I drove in HS: schwinn 10 speed if I couldn’t get a ride in the Fonz’s Triumph spitfire or one of his dubs.  Eventually got to drive my mom’s seventy something green ford galaxy wagon or a Mercury

car I drive now:  trek 21 speed or one of a bunch of VWs, I usually drive a turbodiesel that gets 50 mpg.

favorite movies in HS: movies?  We didn’t need no stinkin’ movies, we had Saturday Night Live.

favorite movies now: Dave (great name for a movie by the way), The Rookie, There’s Something About Mary, Goodfellas

last three books I've read: The Juror, A Walk In The Woods, Cameron Hydraulic Data

most unusual place I've visited:  Edinburgh Castle in Scotland.

one thing I'd change if I could do HS over:  get involved in more clubs and activities.  My son did this during his high school career and really enjoyed it.

classmate I had biggest crush on: A bunch of them, but I was pretty happy when Cleveland Day School closed and we got new classmates!

my biggest secret in HS:  I know nothing about any egg incidences.

best HS memory:  not the best memory, but I remember freezing in the back of a pick up truck that we got a ride back to Cleveland from Loudon after the loss to Maryville in the playoffs after Nick Dorko’s car wouldn’t start after the game.  I think we had to take the SAT the next morning in Chattanooga and I still blame that for scoring so pitiful on the test.

friend(s) from HS I've kept a close relationship with:  I shared an apartment with David Johnson during our last year at UTK.  Ron Dow (CHS ’79) works in my office, I’ve gotten to see Coach Miller, Bob Waddell (RIP), Joe Waddell, Johnny Lennon, Joe Hannah and Jeff Howard’s dad at high school wrestling tournaments the last couple of years.  I hear from Mike Shealy every now and then but he won’t use email so only by phone.  Oh yeah, I also got a kick when I found out that Garrett’s baseball coach (Brian Reed) was fraternity brothers with String and Mike Yarworski at UTK.

Message or Notes to Class:  Looking forward to this reunion, and many thanks for the efforts from all the organizers!  THANKS!!

My mom followed us in the VW with the lights on so we wouldn't get squished. (I also loved it when Whitney passed out when we were having a "who can hold your breath the longest" contest...... or was that Jr. High? - still a great one.)
